What we do

Beso de Burro Ranch celebrates the deep bonds and mutual affection between burros and the people who live, work and play with these beloved companions.

We’re purveyors of unique experiences and playful merchandise inspired by the daily life and experiences shared between humans and burros.

Inspired by pack burro racing born in the mountain mining towns of Colorado, Beso de Burro Ranch is for everyone who seeks to connect to the hardiness and humor that surround burros and the people in their lives.

What's in a name

Our ranch, named Beso de Burro Ranch, translates to “kiss of the burro” or simply “burro kiss” in Spanish. It’s a heartfelt tribute to the nudges and nosings we receive from these furry friends.

Now, let’s talk about the word “ass.” While the word "ass" was originally the common name for a donkey—derived from the Latin word "asinus," we have no qualms about using it in all its snarky, snickering, and triple-entendre glory. Honestly, how can we resist the opportunity to use a word that can mean idiot, buttocks, or a farm animal? So, embrace our unapologetic, seemingly endless puns with the word “ass.”

Who we are

Beso de Burro Ranch is the husband and wife team of Scott and Michelle. We live and play with our four burros, Rico Suave, Macho Man, Caper and Lolita Maria Elena and our labradoodle, Kevin, on a patch of the eastern plains that look upon the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies.

Active in pack burro racing and supporters of the burro rescue community, we’re Coloradans who love to run, hike and just have fun with friends, both two-legged and four-legged, within the iconic scenery of the Rocky Mountain West.
